Parcel delivery estimate
How courier chargeable weight is estimated
For a parcel in centimetres, volumetric weight equals length × width × height ÷ courier divisor. The calculator compares this with actual gross weight, rounds up to the specified billing step and multiplies by the per-kilogram rate you enter. It then adds your base fee, fuel surcharge, packaging, cash-on-delivery percentage and optional handling fee.
Each parcel is calculated separately and the total is multiplied by your chosen identical parcel quantity. Many delivery services have their own rules for parcel zones, weight bands, minimum charges and payment collection.
Frequently asked questions
Why might volumetric weight be higher than actual weight?
Large light parcels consume space in delivery vehicles. Courier charges can depend on dimensions, not just weight on the scale.
Does this show today's Sri Lankan courier rates?
No. Charges vary by carrier and route, so enter your verified rates.
Can it account for cash on delivery?
Yes. You can enter a COD amount, processing percentage and handling fee for each parcel.
